  1. No macho leadership: From our research and teaching and consulting experience, we know of some organizations where older women felt it necessary to adopt existing male / macho leadership styles; Their goal is to be as tough, if not harder, than men. We think it's possible to take a different approach, and maybe the younger generation of female executives feel safe enough about that. We would also give some advice - Macho leadership should not be considered an "ideal" as it often creates a poisonous culture of anxiety that is not healthy for the organization.
  2. Be clear about your personal leadership vision: Understand your preferred leadership style - and develop the ability to do so when needed. Be honest with yourself about your preferences, any restrictions and work with others to get feedback.
  3. Be authentic: Be true to yourself and feel comfortable with your leadership style.
  4. Explore your leadership image together with others: > Ask for feedback on your style and impact and the impression you leave.
  5. Train your voice: Many women have a high voice that is thin and therefore not easy to hear. Therefore, we recommend women to train their voice and use it to make their voice heard. Those who do not make their voices heard and do not speak with a certain authority will not be fully respected.
