The ability to work as a team is a healthy battlefield

Overview

Teamwork is so easy - team spirit also includes a healthy culture of debate. Because only then can one Team, which consists of different individuals with different interests, working together efficiently.

And there is more than enough reason to be annoyed in everyday working life - to name but a few examples:

  • Unreliability among colleagues,
  • a stubborn boss,
  • inefficient meetings,
  • canceled appointments
  • and much more.

How to deal with conflicts

Overview

And quickly the familiar team is out of the ordinary. However, it is difficult to deal with such conflicts: Instead of venting his anger, most would rather shut up. In fact, in German offices, there is simply too little talk about such criticizable behavior - and thus the teamwork

On the contrary, many colleagues are almost tame and pacted in an almost unspoken standstill agreement: "As long as you do not pee on my leg, I do not" - and all are satisfied. Seemingly.

The pitcher goes to the well for so long ...

Overview

Because of this behavior, two problems arise: On the one hand the motivation and thus also the achievements go back, because many times their anger always swallow. And even the colleague, who has been annoyed about, gets so no way to improve the situation. In the end, the beautiful saying goes: "The jug goes so long to the well, until it breaks."

Eventually, even the most patient annoyance eater bursts. I experience that again and again - and the sudden outbursts that such people then have are totally surprising and for everyone involved anything but pleasant. In many cases, it would have been better to point out his anger in the same way as to get really nasty afterwards. Because: Anger cleanses the air - but when you become too rude in your anger, you break more than it helps.

5 Tips against conflicts in the team

Overview

Subversive conflicts usually arise when one party or several can not make a clear statement or push around it. The reasons for this are manifold: We call 5 the most important and appropriate countermeasures.

  1. Uncertainty: One reason is probably uncertainty. Someone is afraid to say his opinion explicitly for fear of unpleasant consequences. Instead, they are only implicitly hoped, and the other will somehow understand what they mean. This creates misunderstandings. What helps: to make the misunderstandings clear.
  2. Calculation: Another reason is calculation: Someone wants to achieve something specific and thinks that others will, if one is too direct, say no. So you try it with manipulation. Not a nice move. Tell your colleague clearly that you have seen through his manipulation.
  3. See through manipulation: Most manipulation attempts are so clumsy that you can see through them quickly. Example: Colleague X tries to make colleagues Y indirectly responsible for an error. He counters with just such reproach - and he is not only there in the bad, defensive position, but has also outed as a bad manipulator.
  4. To combat bullying: Even harder is targeted mobbing. Because those who bully others want to increase their reputation by making others smaller. If the attacker reacts insecure or speechless, the attacker gets exactly the hoped for reaction. If you are the target of mobbing attacks, you should not wait, but tackle it as soon as possible. Re-actions help you with almost all kinds of verbal attacks. However, the repartee techniques require some practice. Further Anti-bullying tips are here!
  5. Avoid long-term consequences: But really annoying are the long-term conflicts and bullying attacks. Consequences: Because in the worst case can develop from such constellations a real, ongoing exchange of blows with major and minor nastiness, which only prevents their own productive work. Avoidable by changing an open word.
