Self-motivation, self-guidance and self-love are very much in vogue. Nevertheless, the topic is not new: David Schwartz's Longseller "Think Big" already exists in the middle of the last century and he has lost none of its topicality.

What do successful people do differently?

Overview

What makes successful people? What are they doing differently? The simple answer to these questions: whoever succeeds has a strong sense of self-worth and knows exactly what he or she wants. At least that's what David J. Schwartz says and developed the principle of generous thinking. With him, everyone can adopt this attitude of success.

Transforming defeats into victories, reaching the goals set with self-confidence, taking life into your own hands - for over 50 years, people have been following the tips and hints of David J. Schwartz. Put down stuck habits of thinking, Think big - and believe in yourself and your success!

Think big!

Overview

"Think Big" by David Schwartz is one of the first and one of the most successful books on self-motivation and self-development. Although written in the middle of the last century, it is still very hot.

And it is still very, very good to read. The book is on a par with Dale Carnegie's "How to Win Friends," Napoleon Hills "Think and Become Rich," and Tiki's Coast Maker's "Simplify Your Life." While the main focus of Küstenmacher is on focusing on the essential, on making money at Napoleon Hill, and on networking at Carnegie, Schwartz is all about hiring.

Who does not trust anything, will achieve nothing

Overview

In principle, Schwartz reverses the famous phrase of Karl Marx. Marx said, "Being determines consciousness." Schwartz says: consciousness determines being. And anyone who has read the book will agree with him to 100 percent.

There is in science the proven context of the "self-fullfilling prophecy", ie the self-fulfilling prophecy. Thus, what one believes to be true is what will happen. So if somebody thinks "I can never do that", chances are he'll never make it. Schwartz starts right here. With "Think Big" he wants to encourage his readers to set ambitious goals. Because, he is convinced, who the goals are a little higher, automatically releases energy.

Serve instead of elbows

Overview

Anyone who takes the book in hand, quickly realizes why it belongs to the best-selling books of all time. Schwartz does not lecture from above. Rather, he manages to clarify on the basis of examples, what he is about. The amazing thing is that many of his advices are one on one in current guides.

For example, if you say that you are a manager, or a department manager, or a manager Chef is not made "from above", but that one is "lifted" by colleagues, customers, employees upwards. In this example, the credo of David Black is clear: do not extend the elbows and gather as much as possible, but sow. Sow every day.

Being modest and self-confident is not a contradiction

Overview

By that he means: be sincere and kind to your fellow human beings. Realize that it is your fellow human beings who can make you happy and successful, so be of service to them. But also confidently recognize your achievements and abilities and stand by them. And learn to confidently demand money. For anyone who finds money as something indecent, who disturbs the money and success of others, has, according to Schwartz, a disturbed relationship to money and will never get very far.

Conclusion: The book is ideally suited to draw an interim conclusion. Is everything going right in my life, maybe I should readjust some things? The advice is all very easy to implement. And they are able to make a big impact. Sometimes in life it only takes a little push to make big changes for the better. The book "Think Big" is full of such pushers! Worth reading!
