How an exchange arises
The principle "I have a coat for you, do you have a sack of potatoes for it?" Is already a bit older. But it still works: from the exchange of more primitive belongings developed over the centuries, a powerful momentum.
Special skills in certain areas were found in customers who were equipped without this knowledge, but with possessions required by the respective "specialist". In short, the trade originated.
Only 21% are satisfied with your salary
Of course, this is a bit different today: in most cases, the equation is performance versus reward. Monster.de has just published a user survey on "How satisfied are you with your pay?" And the results suggest that there is a need in Germany to take a closer look at this topic. Because of 1.272 participants only 21 percent rated their pay with "satisfied", even only 5 percent with "very satisfied".
Dr. Job has put together a few things to help you get the salary you need to get home in the evening.
6 tips for more salary and appreciation
1. The application: Do not sell yourself under value!
Before you apply for a job, think carefully about what you expect from your job and what the basic conditions should be for you. Often the application asks for salary requirements, please do not sell below value here!
Although you may not be invited to talk in case, because of an excessive amount, but here is the old saying: "Better an end with horror than ...", because if you play from the beginning under form, it will be longer Follow as a rejection on your application. Ask your friends and acquaintances and get other opinions, if you are not sure how much you should play poker.
2. Adjust your expectations for comparison variables
Sometimes it helps to know that you are not alone. This also applies to your salary class. Here it makes sense to research the industry-standard payment exactly - who knows, maybe you are compared to the average even very well paid?
Another way: Put your skills and knowledge with swing to one side of your personal scale - the competition and the things you can still learn with a little less momentum on the other side. Perhaps you realize that it is worth simply letting a little time elapse and a few years of experience to collect.
3. Take a close look: Do you like your job?
An honest self-assessment you have brought from our second tip, now you can look at their current job: Do you really perform so well that you deserve a salary increase? Or, to illuminate it from the other side:
If you are not performing well, is it because you are not very happy in your job? Motivation and performance levels are often very close together! What is missing? Is it the type of employment, or is it perhaps the recognition of your work in general?
4. Go into yourself: What would make you happy?
If you are primarily concerned with personal appreciation, rather than paying for your performance, consider whether your workplace, colleagues and boss can provide you with what you want.
Tilt your inner balance to the negative side, you should act. There are many offers out there, and one can look at the job market without obligation ...
5. Stay moving!
What once looks around is always true! The times when 45 employees were employed in a company, including a stamp card and all the trimmings, have long since passed. So let movement into your life (and the job is an essential part of it!).
Ask yourself again and again: is this job what I need for myself? And if the answer is "no," do not be afraid to look for a job that will do you more good than your previous job.
6. Last but not least: Make inventory with your expenses
How to tease the horse from behind. This point does not help you with more salary, but maybe more money: If you feel constantly, your payment is not enough, imagine your expenses! Insurance, food expenses, luxury goods, rent, car and much more.
Sometimes there are hidden "leaks" that drain you small amounts without your noticing it. A conscious look at your daily finances can help to find and eliminate such leaks.
