Stand for your interests!
However, being responsible for yourself and your interests is crucial to your success. Because it also shows your potential boss that you have seriously dealt with your claims before. You should note the following:
- Think carefully about what and especially how you demand it.
- Keep in mind that the different industries offer different benefits to employees. You need to know for yourself what's important to you.
- Remember that your demands are to the Companywhich should be adjusted to your current career level or level.
- Consider if you are offered alternative benefits. It is a huge difference whether you are a medium-sized company, a corporation or a start-up.
- And then it comes. Do not just ask, but explain why certain demands are important to you and why they are justified in your eyes.
Show development potential
But you should not only make demands, but also show your potential for development. I have already written in the first part of the article that openness means being a weakness. This has a good reason:
If you are presented as a perfect employee from the beginning, what is the future development? The same is the case with employers. These often seek employees who optimize processes, initiate changes or bring a better performance.
When an employer makes such demands, he admits that things are not going well. This should then be made clear in the conversation. Nobody helps if an unrealistic picture is drawn at the beginning and expectations are disappointed.
Ask for feedback
Just a trifle to the end. Just ask for a short feedback at the end of the application. This is not a question of giving this feedback directly on whether the candidate is eligible or not, and what the reasons were.
These reasons will not give you a potential employer due to the General Equal Treatment Act. It is more about a first perception of the conversation. Say: what opened the conversation, it was a pleasant atmosphere, as was the first impression - a feedback without any personal features.
