Teamwork - how it does not work
At the beginning there is the thing with the tunnel vision - that means the same, express it differently
Hyde was defined as an employee who took dull care to enforce his departmental interests. Now the problem is that Hyde not only represents the interests of his department.
On top of that, he is also vaccinated with the stereotypes about the employees from the departments, and also carries much else from his "home" in the project.
Always are everyone right?
That is, we enter the room where discussions are always all right - from their own perspective - and others just always think wrong, or use wrong methods.
The shortcoming is that Hyde is so "trained" to see the world as seen in his department. The problem is that there are many problems, but they all describe the same project object - just from different perspectives and thus completely "incompatible". This is where knowledge integration begins.
Find compromises with which everyone is satisfied
It's about the question of how the Hydes' agree on a problem description, without there being explicit "winning departments".
Now, if each Hyde has his own perspective on the project problem, describing a certain course of action as the "pure doctrine", then blind spots in problem analysis and elimination automatically occur. There are simple gaps in knowledge that nobody likes to admit.
What is Knowledge Integrating?
The main task of knowledge integration can then be described as follows: It is about the substantial development of the gaps in the project perspectives of the Hydes.
The search for options to accept the diversity of the other project participants, and not to consider them as "stupid", but to see the differences in knowledge and the associated perspective differences as a gain for all.
The right way to deal with knowledge
A form of Jekyll's and Hyde's dealings with their differences in knowledge, and how all Jekyll and Hyde come to a common denominator - taking into account what the other Jekylls and Hydes have said about the project object.
The simple question is: how can Hyde, as the "agent of the department," enter into a dialogue with Jekyll in order to creatively engage with the perspectives and working methods of others in a creative and project-promoting way.
Find a language that everyone understands!
If I assume that Hyde is only a functional side of Jekyll and represents his specialized departmental knowledge, then Hyde is a human being like anyone else who could be without a specialist chinese. The only problem is that in the office the role of Hyde is premium suspects and is thus overburdened.
It is therefore about knowledge integration to find a language level in the communication that allows a conversation from person to person. Knowledge will thus be integrated into the knowledge integration into an object which can be communicated via language.
Communication with additional information
The art is to provide your own knowledge with the "leaflet information" that makes it possible for others to realize that I am sharing my knowledge - creating moment of enlightenment with others.
To achieve the goal, Jekyll has to think about Hyde, so to speak. It is important to look for the content that allows the other hydes to understand how and why my perspective looks like it is. It is not all about communicating everything, but to dissolve the mis (t) understanding before they arise.
Knowledge integration consists of several core components
Knowledge integration then becomes a program that consists of three core components
- Recognition of the differences and correctness of other "knowledge stocks",
- a conscious communication between Hydes who recognize themselves as Jekylls and so can communicate their knowledge, and
- learn from Hyde what is important for others.
Norms thus create instructions for action in the project to which the participants hold (ideally).
Information management promotes innovation
The motto could also be: Down with the defense hinges. Because the defense arsenal can be shut down, as the parties know about how to behave.
And so suddenly potential is released for fun things that are supposedly so important in the economy today: creativity and innovation. In general, this is the only way to create new projects.
