What distinguishes popular executives?
To understand what makes the most popular CEOs better than others, you have to look at how the ranking comes about.
Unlike other awards, the award is based solely on voluntary and anonymous feedback from employees who post an employer rating on the Glassdon job and career platform and answer the question whether they are in favor of their CEO or not.
The most popular executives were determined on the basis of their general advocacy rate - in Germany after 2015 and 2016 for the third time now. In addition to the volume, the contents of all the audited valuations of employees employed in Germany between the 2 were also considered. May 2016 and the 1. May 2017 were submitted.
Were included Company with at least 20 evaluations of the managing director and the management level. For the sake of clarity, the managing director ratings are rounded up. However, the calculations to determine the rankings take into account values in excess of the thousandth.

Managers should act as role models for their employees. Good leadership is therefore largely based on employee expectations.
Representing companies from different industries
The most popular managers of German workers come from a wide range of areas. Several companies from the automotive sector are represented, as well as software and hardware companies, as well as a business consultancy and an insurance company. Six of the companies were already in the ranking last year.
Only two of the companies honored for their managers are headquartered outside Germany (Microsoft in Redmond and EY in London).
The 10 most popular manager of Germany 2017
Dieter Zetsche, since 2006 CEO of Daimler AG and last year on the 5. Rank, was chosen as the most popular manager in Germany for the first time by his employees. The first-ever 2016, Alain Caparros, Managing Director of REWE Group, did not make it into the Top 10 this year.
Internationally, the managers of SAP, Microsoft and EY are not only popular with German employees - Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella made it to the top in France, SAP's CEO Bill McDermott took second place. Mark Weinberger from EY can look forward to places in the US, UK and Canada, but nowhere does he land as far forward as in Germany.
