Networking: How do you meet Barack Obama?
Everyone knows everyone at six corners, it means networking, which means that everyone can reach every person in the world through a maximum of six contacts. Sounds illusory, but how close you are to the former US President Barack Obama, I was suddenly aware at a recent informal event during the Kissinger summer.
This is an international music festival in Bad Kissingen that has been taking place every year from mid-June to mid-July since 1986, with David Garrett or or Chinese star pianist Lang Lang appearing. The Max-Littmann-Saal in Regentenbau, right next to the Kurtheater Bad Kissingen, belongs to the 10 best concert halls in Europe and gave the festival such an international renown.
Informal business events
Noteworthy for a place with 20.000 residents: This year, 35.300 tickets for 63 events were sold, including lectures by MdB and ex-Telekom HR Director Thomas Sattelberger or our event.
This was a concert by the Norwegian mezzo-spinalist Tora Augstad, who sang songs by Kurt von Weil in front of a bathing public in the Kissalis-Therme. The event showed how well even informal events work even in a professional business environment.
Meet with Dorothea Bear in the pool and then Barack Obama
Because the atmosphere of this concert was so extraordinary that also the patron saint of Kissinger Sommer, Minister of State and CSU-chairman Dorothea Bär was one of the guests. And then you found yourself in the pool again with a minister who met Barack Obama in Kenya just this week. So sometimes it actually takes just a few contacts.
So maybe more companies should use such special event formats to make their events look less dry? Most are rather boring matters with a stand-up character. All the more is to be welcomed, if companies also use exceptional offers such as skiing or cultural offers.
Health management in the thermal bath
But also the Kannewischer Collection - a total of six thermal baths at five locations throughout Germany - is part of the Kissalis-Therme Company a comprehensive health concept.
Because prevention and stress reduction help keep employees as fit as possible, whatever the workload. And employers show with corporate health offers that they actively seek their employees with such offers in the course of employer branding.
Facilities of the spa
Built from 2001 to 2004, the spa has 1.000 square meters of water surface with various indoor and outdoor pools as well as whirlpools, intensive brine and therapy pools between 18 and 38 ° C. What is missing is a swimmer's pool.
After all, there is a very nice sauna park with various Finnish saunas, steam room and sauna and a wide range of applications such as massages, beauty treatments, body wraps and scrubs or deep heat with natural Fango. I was fascinated by the singing bowl massage in the relaxing intensive brine pool, which I was allowed to test.
In addition to the spa there is gym with personal training area. Kannewischer offers companies, for example, major customer discounts for entry into the terms or even special action.
These include, for example, the health day at the spa, which includes a seminar, a fitness and relaxation course, water aerobics and 3 hours of free admission to the spa at a discounted price. Highly recommended - especially in comparison to other bathrooms - is the way the food in the bistro, that also gladly on the special wishes of health-conscious guests.
What good is a thermal bath for your health?
But what brings a thermal bath at all for the health management of companies: According to a study of the Medical University of Graz and the State Hospital St. Pölten already leads a 25minütiges thermal bath to a significant reduction of cortisol content in saliva, which is considered a stress indicator.
In addition, volunteers indicated that they felt much more relaxed bathing in well-tempered pools than those practicing other relaxation techniques. In addition, her pain on joints and spine noticeably decreased.
How thermal baths reduce the burden
Optimal are about 35 ° C, which are perceived as thermally particularly pleasant, because the body without movement neither cools nor overheated. From a medical point of view, staying in water also promotes well-being for other reasons: The hydrostatic pressure promotes tissue perfusion and blood return to the heart, which stimulates the circulation.
The buoyancy and the associated decrease in weight, with the head above the surface only ten percent of it on land, relieves the entire musculoskeletal system, which can recover and loosen up; Brine even makes for a limbo. Moreover, water resistance enhances the training effect because movements are more strenuous and the muscles are more demanding - a concomitant factor that plays an important role in improving physical performance in prevention and rehabilitation.
To the Kannewischer-Collection
If the water also contains salubrious minerals, which can affect the body even better through the heat, they will nourish the skin. Moreover, during an osmotic process they penetrate through the pores into the body and provide a deep effect on joints, metabolism or organs as well as on the cardiovascular system.
The name of the Kissalis thermal bath is the short form for “In Aquis Kissingen salus”, which means “In the waters of Kissingen there is salvation”. Company founder Bernd Kannewischer actually became a bathroom specialist by chance: he started with an engineering office in Zug in Switzerland in 1972 and planned for 44 years for around 250 public indoor, outdoor, spa and thermal pools as well as hotel wellness and fitness facilities in Germany, Switzerland, France and Italy the technology. In 1994 the company took over the Caracalla thermal baths and the Friedrichsbad baths as their first private baths. The thermal baths in Bad Kissingen are also leased by the municipal utilities.
With Empress Sissi and Bismarck in Bad Kissingen
Thermal baths are by far not a new invention: Already at the beginning of the 19. Century the Bavarian kings became aware of Kissingen and its mineral springs. It was followed by the redesign of the thermal springs and spa gardens expanded.
From the 1830 years Kissingen was the fashion resort par excellence for Europe's nobility and aristocracy, not only the Bavarian kings, but also Empress Elisabeth of Austria or Chancellor Otto Prince of Bismark were here - on the latter was even committed an assassination.
Soon World Heritage by UNESCO?
Bad Kissingen later became popular with the bourgeoisie as well as with artists, writers and musicians, and the social and political dimension of a cure was no longer to be underestimated. Names such as Theodor Fontane, George Bernard Shaw and Richard Strauss graced the guest lists.
Even though the grandeur of that time has faded a bit, Bad Kisssingen still has some highlights today: it has the largest ensemble of historical spa gardens built around the spa gardens, especially under Ludwig I, in Bavarian classicism 11's traditional European spa towns, the Great Spas of Europe, aiming for UNESCO World Heritage status. It is also the oldest Gradierstandort Europe and has the oldest golf course in Bavaria from the year 1911.
