Stand-alone or as a focus?
The first question that arises when you are interested in studying is the study variant. There are two ways to study marketing. On the one hand, marketing is offered as a focus in almost every business studies, on the other hand, independent courses of study have emerged in the last few years (but especially at private universities).
The advantage of choosing a degree in business administration is that you can usually choose a further focus and thus position yourself in an interdisciplinary, ie "broader" way. At the same time, however, this also means that graduates of an independent marketing course of course have more knowledge in the area of marketing, since their entire course was aimed at this area.
Everyone interested in the study should decide which one to choose, by looking at the universities in question personally, and by providing counseling. There is no general recommendation.
Marketing today is much more than just advertising to sell its products and services to men or women. Rather, marketing has also developed into a “concept of holistic, market-oriented corporate management to satisfy the needs and expectations of customers and other interest groups” (Wikipedia).
