Stand-alone or as a focus?
The first question that arises when you are interested in studying is the study variant. There are two ways to study marketing. On the one hand, marketing is offered as a focus in almost every business studies, on the other hand, independent courses of study have emerged in the last few years (but especially at private universities).
The advantage of choosing a degree in business administration is that you can usually choose another focus and thus be more interdisciplinary, so "broader". At the same time, however, this also means that graduates of independent marketing studies naturally have more knowledge in the field of marketing, since their entire studies were aimed at this area.
Everyone interested in the study should decide which one to choose, by looking at the universities in question personally, and by providing counseling. There is no general recommendation.
Today, marketing is much more than just advertising to bring its products and services to the man or the woman. Rather, marketing has also evolved into a "concept of holistic, market-driven corporate governance to meet the needs and expectations of clients and other stakeholders" (Wikipedia). Company align their decisions based on marketing-specific core issues in order to continue to grow and face new challenges.
