Authenticity or skillful staging?
Recently I was at the re: publica. It was also really nice: Nice people, everything cool, easy going, casual. Only one thing irritated me: There was actually no business dress code - but then anyway: An underdress code!
The fact that at certain events everyone is running around with ties and collars and you feel like the well-known colorful dog, if you do not meet the dresscode, you know. On the re: publica it was exactly the same, but the other way round: everyone was walking around comfortably.
You can find that beautiful now, because people give themselves as they are private, completely authentic.
Beware of manipulation
But it must not hide the fact that it is, just for Company is also about a business event. Therefore, the Legere is then again just a dress code - a kind of Underdresscode!

What kind of student is that?
This also fit well with my thoughts, as I attended the post posted as a video below: When the speaker was building, I thought spontaneously: "What student is coming now?" And was then positively surprised that it was Miriam Meckel.
At the distance and with her jeans and shaks she looked just like a student - and may have found that many cool, I think that's just a skilful insult of authenticity - apart from the fact that the lecture was really worth seeing.
Does dress code have to be boring?
Some time ago, I started my series on original business fashion, which should show that office clothes are anything but boring. Because not all run around in the job in a suit or costume - for example, when you look abroad.
In Dubai, for example, the sheikhs also wear their traditional dress at the business meeting - the usual business fashion. Incidentally, I find African business fashion even more interesting, as I was previously able to assess at some UN conferences: colorful, colorful - and not at all boring. Maybe someone has such a photo for me?
