Success through notoriety
A very large part of the success is through the spun contact network and the name recognition in the Company certainly. Pure hard-working workers, who quietly work their way through their little room from morning to night, therefore have bad cards, because nobody sees how they toil.
The boss, who comes first to 9 clock, does not realize that they were already around 7 clock to get the project concept done on time. He overlooks that you do not make a lunch break, because you still have the eMailList must work through. And when he goes to 18 clock, he also gets no more, as the perfectionist beats the night because he still processes the files.
Do good and talk about it
Perfectionists often recognize the importance of positive self-presentation in companies, when colleagues on the career ladder pass them by and get them professionally behind them.
For others, when no one is going to put their mouths to their lips, many perfectionists are silent, because this form of self-expression seems inappropriate to them.
Working on the performance limit is more damaging
Instead, they always work on their performance limits, hoping that others will notice their dedication and talent on their own. Secretly, however, they often dream of breastfeeding from accomplishing something truly great that surprises and outshines everyone else.
But it rarely happens that the increased use is also perceived, because the performance is taken for granted by most bosses.
What superiors perceive, on the other hand, are the negative aspects of perfectionism, because they are, unfortunately, much more obvious. Perfectionists often have not only to themselves but also to other high demands and are extremely truth-loving.
The good wire is important!
Therefore, they are reluctant to keep up with their opinions, even if it hurts. In addition, ambitious people are practically in constant competition with others are therefore already uncomfortable.
But whoever, for example, constantly in the meeting, colleagues and even the boss openly criticizes and shows that he knows everything better, does not need to be surprised if he is soon condemned as rude and uncomfortable and uses his sympathy points. Instead of laying your finger on burning wounds, it would be much more convenient to play the game around the beautiful sparkle.
Principle of humanity
Because often rises on the career ladder faster, who has a good line to the right people. This is due to the fact that humans are by nature less designed for competitive behavior than for cooperation.
The neurobiologist and physician Joachim Bauer has justified this in his book "Principle Humanity: Why we naturally cooperate" very plausibly. Accordingly, the basic human motivation to find and give interpersonal recognition, esteem, affection or affection - and not, according to the motto "survival of the fittest" to eliminate the competition.
Why we should cooperate
And the relationship with the boss will be better if you cooperate with him, instead of constantly criticizing. This does not mean that you are constantly sacrificing yourself for it: it is much more about supporting the boss and the company in their goals by putting oneself in the right place and knowing what he wants before he speaks it out.
It's all about being informed about the processes in the company in order to be able to act properly if necessary. And it's about expanding your own skills to be useful to the business. Who acts like this makes life easier for his boss and indispensable for himself - career guaranteed!
Founders stand in the way with perfectionism itself
But even who owns his own boss, stands in the way as an entrepreneur: Because as a founder no one can say exactly how to do it, and this makes many enormously unsettled, some founders apply all sorts of perfectionist habits to their uncertainty Compensate: You want to make everything as correct and perfect as possible and avoid any mistakes.
Because the strategy of wanting to avoid mistakes at all costs, even as a self-employed person, only results in decisions being postponed or not even made - absolutely deadly for founders, for whom the ability to decide independently is one of the most important qualities. Perfectionism thus also inhibits the ability to learn from mistakes - and thus any innovation.
Break the joy of your own idea?
But that's not all: perfectionist founders are only too happy to lose themselves in the smallest details, such as the design of the business card, instead of keeping the big picture in view. Then stubbornly follow the path you have taken, because every deviation leads to even more uncertainty.
The joy of their own foundation, they make it even broken. And instead of working effectively, many founders fall into blind actionism. But that should not be, if you just make it clear why you act like that - namely insecurity!
