But already at the first comparison he has to be in the back. A personal, unofficial pre-market analysis by Hannes shows that he still has potential. In order to scan his values in the 360 grade rating, he secretly counted how many eMail-Expressions his executives on the White Board under the heading "positive feedback from customers and employees" hang. Of the five colleagues on the same management level, he occupies rank 5.
He takes this result strategically and discusses with his coach. The lightning analysis shows: Hannes has too few colleagues and / or friends. Not that he would miss such. Being a sociable person is never boring in his spare time.
But a gaping gap opens up when the coach addresses him on "social media". "How many friends do you have on facebook?", "How many second-degree contacts did you list on XING?" "How many followers do you have on twitter" and "how do you like the album on Google+"? Hannes understands nothing.
The first development
He needs a training course on social media. A lecture will take place in the company forum in the nearby city. Hannes listens, writes. As a dutiful manager, Hannes rushes into the office and opens accounts for Xing, twitter and facebook. But even as a practiced, PC-affine human being gets his elan a kink. Even in the installation, the digital worm seems to be stuck.
And it gets even worse: managing a profile, editing information, using relationship status and 'about you', setting access permissions in categories, exposing political and religious views to close friends, completing former homes and activity profiles ... The first steps in the Facebook
The next morning in the office, he redesigns his "Start-to-work ritual". First, he opens all platforms and looks what has happened during the night. Exciting, what he discovers everything. As in the past, he also made the mail back then. "I'll click it," says Hannes and is happy to have a new contact. On Facebook he learns who is the guy who is constantly sitting with his neighbor, meanwhile a Facebook friend. "Thanks for the nice night" writes the guy in the wall post 1. Wall post 2: "Yes darling, was great," she describes the nightly activity. An advantage that all friends know ...
The first episodes
Hannes recognizes the benefits. Once again the preparation for a meeting is tough because he lacks the ideas, he can tell. Together, it suffers easier. On the Facebook wall, he tells his 237 friends: "Sh ... meeting. I can not get any further. They always want to have everything exactly here, but then to talk it over. There's nothing wrong with that. Boring!".
Switch interactively for "leave a comment" or "like". Shortly afterwards he sees the result: 16 of his 237 friends think it's good that he can't think of anything. His boss's comment: "I'll think of something that you will never be bored!" Oops! Now Hannes has a problem. The boss is one of his 237 friends. Just before he joins the Facebook group "Can-tell-me-someone-why-all-bosses are stupid", a thought flashes through his mind: What if my employees are also in this group?
The first new software
Hannes understands that social media must be understood. Who sees what he writes and why does he get all the Twitter info he has written himself, but never someone else? The IT must be. It is intended to develop a small application that can be used to manage entries in all social media.
