Openness does not mean disrespect

Actually, I thought it was a matter of course, but it is unlikely that you can say it often enough. If it is said that candidates should be open in talks, this should not mean that they should be disrespectfully disrespected.

Of course, any discussion should be conducted respectfully. For me, openness means, rather, that one does not obscure oneself, that one does not slip into any role and remains authentic.

Sign an honest picture

Also, an honest image of drawing does not mean that one talks in the presentation talk of the last party with the friends or the current crisis with the life partner. These topics do not belong to this place. Draw an honest picture on all relevant topics.

Tip: Text as PDF (please read the instructions!) Download or for a little more Book on the topic with discount or eCourse book. Actions or news via Newsletter!

If family situations are relevant, mention them. But only if it belongs to the topic. Always ask yourself if you are in the first few hours and draw a wrong picture, how long you can maintain this.

The simple rules of behavior

With all honesty and openness, of course, even this should be self-evident, the simple rules of behavior should not be lost. This simply means:

  • Be punctual.
  • Be friendly.
  • Be dressed neatly and especially clean.
  • When clothing, make sure that you feel good, but also that this is the Company requirements.
  • Do not be easy in the sense that corporate culture does not provide for this.

This could be called forever, but as mentioned, it should also be self-evident.

Show interest

The discussion talks about the future professional situation and also about further professional steps. So you do not only show interest in the position and the advantages you receive, but also in your opposite. With these people, you will probably spend more time in the future than with friends or the partner. Eight hours a day.

The social component is not only important for your daily wellbeing, but also for your career. Get a picture of your opponent to see if the wave line is right. After all, you want to be promoted and encouraged. But keep in mind that you remain on a respectable level. In the interview you do not want to find new friends, but a professional relationship.
