At the beginning is the study. And then comes the job. This is what all students believe. All students? No, there is a relatively large group of students who do not know what they can do with their Master's, Master's or Bachelor's in their professional life.

Practice counts!

Overview

I did that during my language and literature studies (English and French) as well. "Study business administration next to your languages, that gives you better job opportunities," I was advised on the one hand. But with (economic) theory I had never been able to do much.

"Do internships to make a practical reference," I was told on the other hand. "Go abroad and apply your languages", "Receive 'computer courses to be fit in computer science." I took these last three tips and learned soon that I was helped tremendously. Finally, when I was taught by a literature professor of English, the USP of soft skills of humanities scholars (including fast and thorough incorporation into often non-subject areas), I was well prepared for the job market.

Although my career aspirations, "I want to do a job where I can use my foreign language skills, and the Internet should also be an important part of my job," usually honored with a fierce frown, but that's exactly what I do today : I work in Lyon in a French HR Internet communication agency that is internationally oriented!

ERASMUS as a springboard

Overview

How did I get that? I went to Lyon for a few months with the ERASMUS program just before graduation to prepare for the language practice part of my exams. I liked life and the city so much, so I decided to return soon. So in April I returned 2004 with a LEONARDO internship in my pocket back to the Rhône and Saône metropolis.

What I did not know at the time was that I would spend the next six years there, right in that Companyin which I had completed the internship.

From communication to consultation

Overview

While I was initially responsible for the communication and marketing activities designed for Germany (reworking the pages, writing newsletters, cooperations, trade fair organization, etc.), I gradually became acquainted with the sales and consulting business. My customer base developed well, so I completely changed 2007 into the consultation.

A certain marketing and PR activity, however, I have continued in the industry since 2007: in the form of my blog http://www.online-recruiting.net, In the meantime, I have been working on the Web 2.0 and online marketing in the context of personnel marketing and personnel management, and I am also increasingly advising companies that would like to present themselves on these channels of the applicant target group.

For joy of study

Overview

In the end, I've done exactly what I've always been advised to study the subjects I enjoy. Anyone who does not become a Fachidioten, often takes the chance to think outside the box and takes his other interests, will find his way from the study of the humanities to his professional life.

Incidentally, I also continued to search for my own profession and am now an expert in the analysis and strategic planning of personnel marketing campaigns and social media recruiting.
