VDI reacts displeased
At the request of a reader and an engineer for an interview with VDI, which was published in the mirror at the 15.02.2012Chef Willi Fuchs resp. To the mostly negative reader comments the association reacted indignant to outrageous:

With respect, but so slowly I can you too We are glad to see that the shitstorm that you prophesied against us, prepared with facts, is in opposition to this. Provoked the VDI mass exits?
My reader now wants to make his announcement true and now get as many VDI members as possible to announce their departure - under the motto: "We are VDI". The role model is the action
Meanwhile, there are rumors that the VDI's figures are not exactly correct, especially with the age structure of the engineers. You can be curious about how the story unfolds. Here is the, admittedly somewhat polemical appeal, to the action:
Hi, then I want to start small. First we have to collect. I think I'll go straight to you - I hope that's OK. And first of all a promise: I will, of course, your names and email addresses without consent No way to blogs, media, etc. I start with a small call: If you have not yet terminated the VDI, I would ask, still until the latest possible time with the termination (The deadline is 3 months to the end of the calendar year). We need especially those VDI members, who have not yet terminated, for a small experiment: If in Germany only 100 engineers and experts publicly a mass exit from the VDI with a corresponding message In the Internet, press and television, this can have a significant impact (* wake up call *) - especially against the backdrop of the much-discussed alleged shortage of skilled workers. Because many VDI members, who were indifferent indifferent until then, are after one public mass exit to be thoughtful, and then perhaps to the realization that unites us here: VDI does not sufficiently represent the interests of its members, especially as regards his attitude to the alleged shortage of skilled workers. It just takes a trigger (nice word, we engineers & technicians love that ;-) to initiate this development and make a significant difference in opinion among members - time is in my opinion ripe for it. Then the VDI must confess color. Our example is the initiative "Wir-sind-Einzelfall.de", which was launched last year within a few months 14.000 (!!) could unite dissatisfied customers and thus the mobile operator O2 suddenly to a course correction and massive network investments could "persuade" :-). Wherever possible, please forward to *email@example.com*, link, and share on Facebook, Xing, Twitter ....! At the moment we are still few, but I think that can change quickly if you discuss the subject with your colleagues and ask if they do not want to participate. If 10 people ever 2 find more interested parties, and then 20 2 again, etc ...... you know the game ...... Anyone who has already withdrawn from the VDI, can still help extremely, by VDI Members of the circle of acquaintances draw our attention to us. Well, it's possible, but only if you have a little bit of support: For example, contributions in the largest comment areas (Spiegel, Welt, Die Zeit, Süddeutsche etc.) and the distribution of links from public reporting to friends and colleagues would be helpful.
