VDI reacts displeased
At the request of a reader and engineer to one at the 15.02.2012 in the SPIEGEL published interview with VDI boss Willi Fuchs resp. on the mostly negative reader comments the federation reacted indignant to outrageously:
“But now you're surprising me. First praise him SPIEGEL as the connoisseur of the situation, now the interview will be published and Mr. Dr. Fuchs 'toasted' because it reflects reality? With all due respect, but slowly I can follow you just as I take Mr. Brenke seriously. We look forward to your predicted shitstorm, prepared with facts. The previous reactions to the interview on the web give us reason to do so. By the way: Anyone who threatens has no good and lasting arguments. (is my private opinion). ”
Provoked the VDI mass exits?
My reader now wants to make his announcement true and now persuade as many VDI members as possible to announce their departure - under the motto: “We are VDI”. The model is the action
Meanwhile, there are rumors that the VDI's figures are not exactly correct, especially with the age structure of the engineers. You can be curious about how the story unfolds. Here is the, admittedly somewhat polemical appeal, to the action:
Hi, then I want to start small. First we have to collect. I think I'll go straight to you - I hope that's OK. And first of all a promise: I will, of course, your names and eMail addresses without consent No way to blogs, media, etc. I start with a small call: If you have not yet terminated the VDI, I would ask, still until the latest possible time with the termination (The deadline is 3 months to the end of the calendar year). We need especially those VDI members, who have not yet terminated, for a small experiment: If in Germany only 100 engineers and experts publicly a mass exit from the VDI with a corresponding message In the Internet, press and television, this can have a significant impact (* wake up call *) - especially against the backdrop of the much-discussed alleged shortage of skilled workers. Because many VDI members, who were indifferent indifferent until then, are after one public mass exit to be thoughtful, and then perhaps to the realization that unites us here: Namely that the VDI does not sufficiently represent the interests of its members, especially what his attitude to the alleged Skills shortage concerns. It only takes one trigger (nice word, we engineers and technicians love something ;-) to initiate this development and to bring about a significant change in opinion among the members - in my opinion the time is ripe for it. Then the VDI has to show its colors. Our model is the initiative “Wir-sind-Einzelfall.de”, which took place within a few months in the last year 14.000 (!!) was able to unite dissatisfied customers and thus suddenly "persuaded" the mobile operator O2 to make a course correction and massive network investments :-). Wherever it makes sense, please forward to *firstname.lastname@example.org*, link, and on Facebook, Xing, Twitter…. divide! We're just a few at the moment, but I think that can change quickly if you discuss the issue with your colleagues and ask if they don't want to participate. If 10 people each find 2 other interested parties, and these 20 then 2 more etc. ... you know the game ...... Anyone who has already left VDI can still help extremely by making VDI members known to us. So, it is feasible, but only if you participate a little: contributions in the largest comment areas would be helpful (SPIEGEL, WELT, THE ZEIT, Süddeutsche etc.) and spreading links from public reporting to friends and colleagues. You are welcome to my mail adress Wir-sind-VDI@web.de , so that further disillusioned VDI members can join here.
