What do I really want?
So how do you keep the balance between your own wishes, the demands of the job day and the stress? Important aspects are essentially two aspects: you know yourself and your own wishes well.
It is important to recognize yourself and recognize where your own physical and psychological limits of maximum exposure lie. As is well known, the mid-twenties are different from the later ones. Therefore it is important to be on the safe side. The more stress a profession brings, the faster the batteries and the performance are ultimately the end.
The other thing is the much more difficult task that each individual is faced with. It is about becoming aware of what it is and what the real personal goals and wishes are that precede the study choice.
It is about motivation research and to consider with friends and acquaintances, but to decide alone, what is what I really enjoy and where others see the eyes flash.
In this context, actively “managing” yourself means realizing that the world of work has changed indisputably, and much of what is learned today is based on theories from a “different time”. As a student, everyone should develop a feeling for it and be able to build a critical distance from what they have learned.
What can the environment do?
This is what the individual can do and where stress and the internal batteries work differently, and the effects of stress and “unsuccessfulness” are better coped with. But what can the environment do for the students who have just started?
It is not just about filling students with knowledge. It is also about the question of managing itself. In this context, this does not mean the ability to write housework according to subject X rules.
Errors in university marketing
The teaching staff here has a share to prepare students for the uncertainties and fast pace of working life - yes, today is studying vocational preparation. Such understanding can help students rationally decide how they want to shape their lives.
And as hard as it may sound, teaching staff can begin to stop “turning students on” wanting more than they can do individually.
Elite or health?
It is as individual as being rational not to be part of the elite or world of excellence, being part of it. However, the costs of both decisions are individually borne.
The decision to go with the elite has to cost the individual, as seen above, with his and his health. This is clear to say, and here is not to talk about the hot mess that is what can be expected of enlightened, rational teachers. The cost of not doing this is too high.
Doubt from the subconscious
The reason for such head decisions: A degree is an investment that has to generate an “ROI” at some point - this is the popular opinion, but which today seems less and less realistic.
So while the finished student is now "scrubbing his overtime, maybe falling into bed in a foreign hotel room on business trips dead tired, there may be doubts in the subconscious whether all of the things you are doing are correct.
It is not a concrete thing. The doubt is quickly brushed aside, referring to the good salary, the good position, the "look". But the longer the deadly tired persists and becomes permanent, and at some point the rewards no longer flow as usual, the doubts increase.
The potential downward spiral
It starts the potential downward spiral in psychological and other health terms. The brain starts to become self-sufficient, and where you want to sleep, the thought gets stuck in your head: It does not fit.
The more the rational side says, “Everything is great, and if YOU do this, that, and which one tomorrow, then the next reward comes in the job”, the less chance there is of a personal “real border experience”.
The Shinning Happy Person
However, the body and soul have often already switched to the “emergency program” at this point, and much is becoming more difficult. This is how the zipper of a "nervous stomach" begins, and depending on the persistence of the state of inner dissatisfaction and continued stress that cannot be reduced by breaks, a development begins in which the "Shining Happy Person" is represented externally.
Unconcentricity, drive, whim, and whatever may be as negative effects of stress on lists. In the interior, the real core of the person concerned becomes smaller and smaller; in the truest sense of the word man perishes.
Burnout and heart attack in the ear
At some point this core is so small that it comes to a health bang. Most of the time, the loud and then very audible, so that the person concerned is forced to the real stop.
The bang can be, the currently everywhere-themed burnout, which may be the less prominent depression, the known tinnitus, the heart attack in the ear called hearing loss, but also cardiovascular complaints and other diseases that can lead modern medicine clearly to stress.
