BMW on the pole position
Germany's young professionals have chosen the most attractive employers. This time, there is a clear winner: He's called BMW. Whether the young apprentices have studied economics or engineering sciences, the automotive and motorcycle manufacturers have the greatest appeal to them. In terms of numbers, this means:
Approximately 17 percent of all young professionals in the field of economics, BMW are among the ideal employers - and would apply there if they are on job search. Among the young engineers, the figure is almost 22 percent. Even in the field of IT / IT, BMW is very high in the course and manages it - together with Audi - directly behind Google and Microsoft in place 3.
Fascination of the automotive industry
In addition to BMW, other car makers such as Porsche, Audi, Volkswagen and Daimler / Mercedes-Benz are particularly popular as employers. The reason for this is simple: they obviously offer exactly what is particularly important to young professionals. This is shown by the "Young Professional Survey 2015" by Universum. The survey also looked at the employer characteristics that particularly appraise young professionals.
Accordingly, must Company not only provide an attractive basic salary, but above all, make sure that they value the performance of their employees and that the work tasks are demanding. In addition, young professionals attach great importance to executives who promote their professional development.
And last but not least, it is the attractiveness of the products and services that makes a company a sought-after employer. All of these attributes are attributed by young professionals to the major German automotive companies.
Become an executive? Still men's business ...
The survey also highlights the objectives of young professionals in their careers. The number one career goal is and remains a balanced work-life balance - but it is much more important for women than for men.
The desire to pursue a safe and stable job, as well as to be intellectually challenged at work, is also widespread among women. In keeping with the cliché, on the other hand, it is above all men who wish to become a leader with a leading function: Almost every second of them has set this goal, while the women are not even every third.
Women are more dissatisfied - is it salary?
Companies that are particularly interested in female young professionals should also be particularly interested in the following findings: Women are somewhat more dissatisfied with their current employer than men - on a ten-step scale, they gave 6,7 points on average, while at the men were 7,1 points.
This difference may seem slight at first, but further results suggest that 29 percent of men would most likely recommend their employer - but only 25 percent of women would do so; not less than 36 percent of women want to change their employer within just one year - compared to 29 percent among men.
Reasons for changing jobs
The main reason for the change is a better remuneration for both sexes. As far as that is concerned, women still have to look to the end of their lives. Those who have studied economics will receive an 50.000 Euro annual salary as young professionals, but only if they are a man. His female colleagues are compensated on average with just around 41.000 Euro.
