Exciting event, participants interested in discussions
All in all, the event was very exciting for me because my understanding of the Internet as a place of participatory participation seemed to be diametrically opposed to the structures of the Bundeswehr. Well, I was taught something wrong:
I rarely had such committed, enthusiastic participants, with whom soon a lively exchange about the social developments in the network, security, co-determination or the addiction potential of the net resulted.
In addition to me, other speakers were invited in the four days, such as Sabrina Ortmann from the initiative D21, Dr. Hans-Georg Wieck, former German Ambassador to Teheran, Moscow and New Delhi and former President of the Federal Intelligence Service or the journalist Daniel Bouhs.
The course leader was Guido Mathes, Research Assistant at the Center of Internal Affairs Guide.
Participants dealt with various topics related to the Internet, such as dealing with the web in culture, business or security, but also with regard to power structures and participation, mass media and transparency.
The various positions of different stakeholders (parties, associations, companies) regarding the Internet as well as very practical, application-related knowledge and skills, eg blogging or creating wikis, were also discussed.
Interesting event in which I was very happy.
